Blepharoplasty

If you look tired even when your not, you may be a candidate for blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid plastic surgery. Sagging eyelids feel heavy and give patients a droopy look, sometimes even inhibiting vision. Blepharoplasty can improve the appearance of puffy eyes by removing excess fat and skin; it can also remove barriers that obstruct vision. An outpatient procedure, blepharoplasty involves trimming fat, excess muscle, and skin from the eyelid. The procedure can be completed in one to three hours, and will leave skin looking firm and youthful.

Glaucoma - General Treatment and Implants

Glaucoma is a degenerative eye disease caused by damage or pressure to the optic nerve. Without treatment, glaucoma can result in vision loss, and even blindness. Dr. Mazaheri offers traditional glaucoma treatment plans, which vary from eye drops to a procedure that temporarily drains fluid from the eye. However, for patients who cannot reduce pressure on the optic nerve with traditional treatments, Dr. Mazaheri offers glaucoma implant procedures.

Dr. Mazaheri performs glaucoma implant surgery under local anesthesia, inserting a plastic tube behind the cornea that allows fluid to pass to the outside of the eye. There is little discomfort following the surgery, and most patients can return home the day the procedure is performed. While glaucoma implants will not improve vision, they will help lower pressure on the optic nerve, and prevent the type of damage that results in vision loss.

Officer Brad Ellis DPD
"As a Police Officer, perfect vision without relying on glasses or contacts is more than a convenience. If I lost my glasses or contacts in the middle of a pursuit, my ability to drive or fire my weapon accurately would be greatly diminished. So having good eyesight could save my life! Before surgery with Dr. Mazaheri, I had severe astigmatism in both eyes and very poor vision. After one procedure, I have 20/10 vision and never have to rely on contacts or glasses again. What a relief and a life saver. I highly recommend Dr. Mazaheri."
